COURSE DESCRIPTION: A presentation of current methods in plant tissue culture. Discussion and research experiments to develop understanding and expertise in such areas as sterile technique, plant propagation, nutritional effects, isolation and fusion of protoplasts, and other current plant tissue culture techniques.
COURSE OBJECTIVES: The objective of the plant tissue culture course include gaining and understanding the theories and practices of plant tissue culture through performing experiments with a variety of organisms, developing hypotheses and testing them by collecting data, interpreting the data, and formulating conclusions consistent with the data.
