Meredith Avenging Angels Come to Life

Raleigh, N.C. - The official logo of Meredith College was unveiled during a celebration of the College’s athletics programs on Wednesday, Aug. 22 in Jones Auditorium.

Event highlights were the unveiling of the College’s new athletics logo and the announcement of a new nickname for the sports teams.

The celebration was emceed by NBC-17 sports anchor Maya Starks, the area’s only female sports broadcaster.

Director of Athletics Jackie Myers said the athletics staff members are “excited about the opportunity to move into a new conference and are pleased to have a new athletics logo to take with us.”

Meredith’s new athletics logo features an “M” and an angel wing, in keeping with the College’s “Angel” mascot.
