Athletics Promotions Announced

Athletics Director Jackie Myers announced promotions within the Meredith College Athletics Administrative team.  Greg Jarvis has been named as an Assistant Athletics Director in addition to his current duties as Sports Information Director.  Head Tennis Coach and Assistant Athletics Director Kelly Weaver has been appointed Meredith’s Senior Woman Administrator.  

Jarvis serves as Meredith College’s Sports Information Director and Assistant Athletics Director. In August 2008, he was promoted to Assistant Athletics Director. Jarvis was named the first full time Sports Information Director of Meredith College in October 2006. Jarvis served as the Interim Sports Information Director from April 2006 to his appointment full time. Under his service as SID he has led the efforts of Meredith’s new athletic logo, upgrades of the athletics website and the additions of webcasting and media guides.

“My first opportunity to work with Greg at Meredith was in his role as an intern in Athletics Administration for our Office of Athletics.  He did an excellent job for me then and he has continued to excel in his new position at Meredith as Sports Information Director.  I am confident he will become a strong member of our Athletics Administrative team,” said Jackie Myers.

Kelly Weaver serves as Meredith College’s Head Tennis Coach, Assistant Athletics Director, and Senior Woman Administrator. During the 2006-2007 season, Weaver led the team to a 14-3 record which gained the Avenging Angels their second NCAA bid in school history. In her role as Assistant Athletics Director, Weaver has a wide range of responsibilities. Weaver has organized two Annual Meredith Masters Showcases for former college tennis players in the area, and has focused much of her attention on fundraising and event planning for the Meredith College Golf Classic as well as the Annual Spring Banquet.  Weaver also serves as the staff advisor for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, and stays involved with game management and compliance for all six sports on Meredith’s campus. 

“For the past two years, Kelly has done a wonderful job assisting in the administration of our athletics program at Meredith. She also just successfully completed the 2008 NACWAA/HERS Institute for Administrative Advancement. I believe she is ready to fulfill the responsibilities associated with this position and am convinced that she will continue to provide positive leadership in her new appointment as Senior Woman Administrator,” said Jackie Myers.
