Volleyball - Sept. 29
Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith volleyball team hosted cross-town rival Peace College on Tuesday night. The rivalry continued the tradition of five-set battles with Meredith taking the fifth set 15-8. The Avenging Angels won both of the 2008 matches in five sets as well.
Meredith (7-11, 3-5 USA South) dropped the first set 21-25, then stormed back in the second with a 29-27 win. Set three saw Peace (7-9, 3-3) win 22-25, and Meredith tieing it up in the fourth 25-16. The Avenging Angels sealed the deal in the fifth with a 15-8 victory.
Meredith was led by Morgan White with 21 kills, three service aces and 21 digs. Mallory Booker added 11 kills and 17 digs. Caroline Cobb had 10 kills. Rebecca Yow had 45 sets.
Meredith next returns to action on Thursday as they host Randolph College at 7 p.m. |
