Volleyball Splits Tri-Match
 
 
Volleyball - Sept. 20
Danville, Va. - The Meredith volleyball team split in their second consecutive day of tri-match conference play. The Avenging Angels defeated Mary Baldwin 3-1 and lost to host Averett 3-1.

In the first match, Mary Baldwin took the first set 27-25. Meredith then stormed back to take the match easily with wins of 25-19, 25-12, and 25-11 to seal the match. The Avenging Angels were led by Morgan White with 13 kills and 17 digs. Cori Spade added 11 kills and four service aces.

In the second match, Meredith dropped the first two sets by the score of 25-23. Meredith then turned the tide of close games their way taking the third set 25-19. Meredith continued to put up a fight, but lost the fourth set 25-22. Meredith was led by Mallory Booker and White, who both had nine kills. Cori Spade added eight kills and five blocks.

Meredith next plays at Methodist on Wednesday.
