Volleyball - Sept. 15
Rocky Mount, N.C. - The Meredith volleyball team traveled to N.C. Wesleyan to open USA South Conference play. Meredith fell to the Battling Bishops 3-1.

In the first set, Meredith fell behind early and could not catch up, losing 25-13. In set number two, N.C. Wesleyan led 9-1 until Meredith stormed back to tie the match at 23-all. The Bishops ended up winning the set 28-26. In the third set, Meredith came quickly out of the gate taking their own 9-1 lead and holding off a late rally by the Bishops to win 25-23. The fourth set had N.C. Wesleyan tied with Meredith at 6-all before the Bishops went on a run to take the match.

Meredith was led by Cori Spade with 14 kills, three blocks and three block assists. Mallory Booker had six kills and 16 digs.

Meredith next travels to Ferrum, Va. to face Ferrum and Christopher Newport on Saturday.
