Soccer - Sept. 14
Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference released their women's soccer player of the week awards. Alex Calvert was named the USA South Women's Soccer Player of the Week while Hannah Garrison earned USA South Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week honors. The Meredith soccer team finished the week 2-0, defeating Bluefield and Bridgewater at the N.C. Wesleyan tournament over the weekend.

Women's Soccer Player of the Week
Alex Calvert, Meredith - The Wilson, North Carolina junior midfielder scored three goals last week as the Avenging Angels posted a 2-0 record. In a 4-0 win over Bluefield, Calvert scored the final goal of the match in the 76th minute. In a 4-3 victory over previously unbeaten Bridgewater, Calvert scored Meredith's second and third goals of the match, which helped the Avenging Angels come back from a 3-1 deficit to earn the win.

Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week
Hannah Garrison, Meredith - The Durham, North Carolina freshman midfielder scored one goal and added one assist in a 2-0 week for the Avenging Angels. In a 4-0 win over Bluefield, Garrison assisted on the team's second goal of the match. In a 4-3 victory over previously unbeaten Bridgewater, Garrison tallied her first collegiate goal as she scored with just over three minutes remaining in the match.
