Fayetteville, N.C. - Apr.15 The USA South Athletic
Conference has announced its All-Conference awards for softball. A
total of 58 student-athletes have been named to the teams for softball. The Meredith softball team placed two on the third team in sophomore Becki Roebock at first base and freshman Olivia Izze at second base. Roebock provided a constant force on defense and at the plate hitting .345 with 12 RBIs and seven doubles. Izze played second base with great defensive range with only one error on the year and hit .309 with 21 hits.
Meredith was also represented twice in pitching circle on the Honorable Mention team with sophomore Arielle Stout, who also earned Utility player honors, and freshman Jordan Smith who missed the last two weeks of the season while still racking up impressive numbers. Stout led the USA South in total strikeouts (152) and a close second in strikeouts per game (9.5). Smith finished first in the conference in strikeouts per game with 9.55 and also had 85 total strikeouts on the season. Stout also played all around the field with a perfect fielding percentage when not in the pitchers circle and put up impressive offensive numbers hitting .382 with 14 RBIs to gain her Utility player honors. Logan Hill was Meredith's representative on the All-Sportsmanship team.
Meredith next moves to the USA South tournament in Burlington, N.C. with play starting on Friday April 16.
