Raleigh, N.C. - Apr. 8 The Meredith softball team faced Peace in the Strike Out Cancer Pink game on Wednesday. The Avenging Angels split the series with Peace winning game one 2-1 and losing game two 8-0.
Game 1: Meredith 2, Peace 1 - The Avenging Angels pulled off a last inning rally to give Meredith the 2-1 win over Peace. Becki Roebock started the seventh inning with a single and was moved over to third with ground outs by Olivia Izze and Arielle Stout. Roebock then scored on a passed ball to tie the game at one. Logan Hill then walked to put a runner on base. Val Sherrer finished off the Pacers with a double to left-center field to score Hill from first base and give the Angels the win. Stout struck out seven and only gave up two hits.
Game 2: Peace 8, Meredith 0 - Peace scored one run in the fourth and that was all they needed to take the 8-0 win.
Meredith next hosts Ferrum College on Friday. First pitch of the conference double header begins at noon. |
