Winchester, Va. - Mar. 28 The Meredith softball team traveled to Shenandoah for a soggy, conference double header. The Hornets swept the series winning game one 11-0 and game two 4-3.
Game 1: Shenandoah 11, Meredith 0Five Innings - Shenandoah came out of the gate early, scoring three in the first, and four each in the second and third innings to take the game.
Game 2: Shenandoah 4, Meredith 3 - Shenandoah got on the board first scoring one in the bottom of the second. Meredith (10-10, 5-3 USA South) answered with two of their own in the top of the third inning. Jordan Smith walked with one out, then was moved to second base on a sacrifice bunt by Becki Roebock. Olivia Izze had a RBI double.to knock in Smith. Arielle Stout then had a double of her own to knock in Izze. The Hornets (13-7, 4-2) answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning. Meredith then pushed across one more in the top of the seventh to just fall short. Stout went five for six on the day.
Meredith next travels to Christopher Newport on Sunday. |
