The Meredith basketball team traveled to Ferrum on Saturday in a USA South match up. The host Panthers defeated the Avenging Angels 78-55.

Ferrum (12-4, 8-1 USA South) started the scoring with a three pointer and never gave up the lead. The Panthers led 36-22 at halftime and won the battle of the boards 36-31.

Megan Rahn had 12 and Brittany Cornelius had 10 to lead Meredith (4-15, 0-12 USA South). The Avenging Angels also got eight points each from Hunter Johnson and Mary Woessner. Cornelius led the way on the boards with seven.

Meredith next heads across town on Monday to face Peace College at 7 p.m.
