The Meredith cross country team took a second place finish in the Salem Invitational. Meredith finished four runners in the seventh through tenth spots. The Avenging Angels finished ahead of USA South rivals, N.C. Wesleyan, Ferrum, Averett and Peace. Meredith was led by Lauren McDonald with a time of 25:10. Joyce McLeod, Rebecca Werner, and Audrey Darby were not far behind. Katie Helms and Lauren Connell provided insurance to keep the Avenging Angels in the top two team spots.

Meredith next runs in the Peace Pacers 5k hosted by Meredith College and Peace College at WakeMed Soccer Park on Friday September 19.
