The
beauty of becoming an art educator is that it lets me drift from one idea
to the next. I am constantly gaining information from my surroundings and
giving it back to the world in a new way. I transform with the discovery
of new styles, mediums, environments, people and experiences. These discoveries
become connections that allow me to understand the importance of being both
a teacher and an independent artist.
My
style is natural to the core. As a result of living by the sea, and being
brought up in a deep rooted family, my pieces have developed into a soft
whisper of the past. Often times my works appear to have been thrown into
the sea, returning as tattered and torn stories. With each work I am learning
that excellence is not always perfection. In my eyes, small flaws are unique
forms full of complex beauty and character. My little artistic imperfections
tell stories and give my work a more personal quality.
