I
used to be afraid of a white piece of paper, but now I am no longer intimidated
but rather overwhelmed with ideas of how I am going to fill the page up.
I love to submerge myself in ideas, almost like an escape from reality.
Whether using a computer or working with a variety of materials from clay
to photography, I am attached to the freedom that art provides.
My
heart, my soul, my passion are in graphic design. I am intrigued with drawing
and creating new, abstract letterforms and it is addicting because I don't
stop until the last t is crossed and the last i is dotted. My favorite tool
to use is the mouse and working to manipulate text. I don't stick to conventional
styles, I like to break out and try new things. I take inspiration from
just about anywhere from a book, to a label on a drink, a t-shirt, just
about anything I lay my eyes on. I even use unconventional techniques such
as a collage combination of letters and numbers, or actually hand drawing
fonts in conjunction with pre-existing typefaces and scan the image in.
I like to use unique fonts to challenge the ordinary. I like to manipulate
images in Photoshop whether it be a design is all about what you say and
how you say it, although it is not as easy as it sounds but the process
is what makes design so engaging.
