For me, art is like a time capsule. The process of creating art is an absolute wonder. My story begins roughly ten years ago while traveling cross-country with my brother and our grandparents. As an eleven-year-old, I went through dozens of film rolls photographing our traveling gang, our adventures, and the beauty of countless national parks. At this point, I was relatively unaware of my desire to “be an artist”. I simply enjoyed using the shutter as my own personal eyelid. Even then, I wanted to capture and hold onto the memory of everything that I saw and experienced.

I have since ventured from photography into a variety of other artistic media. I often create works that illustrate quirky, whimsical places. My travels to Spain’s metropolis have enormously influenced my vibrant interpretation of cityscapes and patterns created from simple repetitive lines. Likewise, the Spanish countryside has influenced my designs when painting on a canvas. Incorporating my love for the Spanish language into much of my art has opened doors into the world of mixed media and my newfound love for small-scale illustration. Lately, I incorporate my time in Spain into almost every project that I embark on. It seems that my artwork only becomes stronger and more reminiscent as I continue combining my adventure-seeking past, my starkly realistic present, and my anticipation for travels yet to come.
