Apartment-Style Housing
Upper-class students who are ready to live on their own but don’t want to give up the convenience and camaraderie of campus living now have an additional housing option.
The new apartment-style housing, which opened in fall 2009, is designed to meet the needs of Meredith juniors and seniors. Units are completely furnished, with living, dining and bedroom furniture, and full-size appliances including washers and dryers. The apartment building consists of 48 units each containing four bedrooms and two bathrooms, and 30 units containing two bedrooms and two bathrooms. All bedrooms are designed for single occupancy. The College built the apartments in an environmentally-friendly manner and was awarded LEED Silver certification for the building. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.
