Friday – May 16th

8 a.m. – 5 p.m. – Student Supply Store Open (1st Floor - Cate Center)

9 a.m. – 4 p.m. – Bee Hive Open (2nd Floor - Cate Center)

11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. – Registration – Johnson Hall Rotunda

12:00 – 1:00 p.m. – Lunch in Belk Dining Hall

1:30 – 2:30 p.m. – Campus Tours – meet in Johnson Hall Rotunda

Tour campus with current students and see the changes since your Meredith days.

3:00 – 4:30 p.m. – Class of 1958 and the Golden Oaks Society Tea – Mae Grimmer Alumnae House

Members of the Class of 1958 and the Golden Oaks Society are invited to this special event honoring the Golden Oaks Society. Members of the Class of 1958 will be inducted into the Golden Oaks Society at this time.

6:00 - 7:00 p.m. – Alumnae Awards Ceremony – Jones Chapel

Be a part of this special event as we present the annual Distinguished Alumna Award, Recent Graduate Award, Career Achievement Award, and Alumna Philanthropy Award.

7:00 - 8:30 p.m. – Cocktail Reception – Massey House, President’s Residence

You will not want to miss this reception for all alumnae – please join in this celebration featuring live music and heavy hors d’oeuvres! Transportation will be provided to and from the President’s Residence.  Meet in front of Jones Chapel.

Saturday – May 17th

8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. – Registration – Johnson Hall Rotunda

8:30 –9:30 a.m. – Breakfast – Belk Dining Hall

10:00-11:30 a.m. – Meredith Alumnae Association Annual Meeting – Jones Auditorium

President Maureen Hartford will provide a College update.  Agenda items for the Annual Meeting include the announcement of class giving totals, election of new Board members, and remarks from Dena White Waters ’97, Alumnae Association President.

11:30 a.m – 12:00 p.m. – Alumnae Choir Rehearsal – 121 Jones

11:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. – Student Supply Store Open (1st Floor – Cate Center)

Update your wardrobe with a new Meredith t-shirt or sweatshirt!  A Josten’s representative will be available in the Supply Store from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.

12:00 –1:30 p.m. – Lunch – Belk Dining Hall

25th and 50th Reunion Classes and members of the Golden Oaks Society will be seated in Belk Dining Hall.  All other classes will be seated in the tent located in the courtyard.

1:30 – 2:30 p.m. – Class Doll Gallery Tour and Retirement Celebration honoring Dorothy Loftin Goodwin, caretaker of the class dolls – Margaret Bright Doll Gallery, 3rd floor of Johnson Hall

1:30 – 2:30 p.m. – Career Center Open House – 2nd floor – Park Center

Learn more about alumnae services provided by the Career Center.  Get a tutorial of the on line program, CareerBeam, or meet with a counselor for career tips and advice.

1:30 – 2:30 p.m. – Alumnae House Open House – This is your chance to see the newly redecorated parlor of the Alumnae House.

2:30 – 4:00 p.m. – Reunion Class Meeting – Locations TBA

Important class business will be conducted including the election of new class agents.

2:30– 4:00 p.m. – Class Photos – SMB Courtyard

4:00 – 5:00 p.m. – Dessert Reception – Johnson Hall Rotunda

After a long day of reminiscing, stop by the Rotunda for an afternoon break.  Enjoy a treat from a dessert bar of some of your favorite Meredith desserts.  The famous toll house pie will be available on a first come first served basis!

3:30 – 5:00 p.m.  – Alumnae Choir Rehearsal – Jones Chapel

6:00 p.m. – Individual Class Activities – See weekend program for details.

Sunday – May 18th

8:00 –9:00 a.m. – Continental Breakfast –– 1st Floor Parlor – Vann

(For those staying in residence halls)

9:30-10:30 a.m. – Alumnae Worship Service – Jones Chapel

Our worship speaker will be with a special performance by the Alumnae Choir.

10:30-12 p.m. – Sunday Brunch – Atrium of the Science and Mathematics Building.

3:00 p.m. – African American Alumnae Chapter Meeting – Mae Grimmer Alumnae House

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is invited to attend Alumnae Reunion Weekend?
All alumnae and their guests are invited to attend every reunion. Individual classes are invited back to attend their five-year reunions.

Alumnae Reunion Weekend 2008 will welcome back all classes ending in an eight (8) or a three (3).

What are the fees?
All alumnae are required to pay a nominal registration fee regardless of the events attended on campus during Alumnae Reunion Weekend. Other event fees may be included or omitted as listed in the brochure. Please review the reunion weekend brochure for individual meal costs.

What does the Registration Fee cover?
The registration fee covers the operating cost incurred by the College in planning and implementing Alumnae Reunion Weekend. Meredith does not make any profit from Alumnae Reunion Weekend. Thus, all alumnae are required to pay a registration fee regardless of the events attended on campus with the exception of the Annual Meeting of the Alumnae Association.

If I need to cancel, what is the refund policy?
Written notification of cancellation should be postmarked by May 12, 2008 in order to receive a refund. Due to commitment costs, we are unable to issue refunds for cancellations postmarked after May 11th. All refunds will be mailed after May 28, 2008.

Can we be housed in the residence halls?
Alumnae can be housed in the residence halls during Alumnae Reunion Weekend. This fee is included on the registration form. The cost is $30/night or $50 for the entire weekend.

When assigning rooms, the Office of Alumnae & Parent Relations attempts to place members of the same class together, unless special requests are made (handicapped accessibility, requested ground floor room, etc.).

Alumnae can also request a specific roommate and/or suitemate(s). Those names should be noted on the registration form. Please contact your requested roommate and suitemates in advance before listing their names on the registration form.

Additionally, please note that children and spouses can not be housed in the residence halls during Alumnae Reunion Weekend.
