Alumnae - Join the MeredithREADS Literacy Program!

> MeredithREADS Alumnae tracking sheet.

Make a difference in the life of a young child through the MeredithREADS Literacy Program. Through this volunteer service opportunity, you are invited to join 80+ students, faculty, and staff serving as Storysharing Volunteers.

MeredithREADS Literacy Volunteers complete a two-hour training with Motheread, Inc. and work with a partner school or a neighborhood school of your choice, with the same child once weekly during the academic year. Using multicultural children's books and the Motheread curriculum, volunteers share stories aloud and lead related hands-on activities with children.

All of the children's books (ex. Where the Wild Things Are; Corduroy) and copies of the Motheread curriculum are housed in the Carlyle Campbell Library. The Motheread/MeredithREADS partnership is designed to provide positive early experience with books and to help children become better readers and thinkers.

Alumnae may register for MeredithREADS at www.meredith.edu/students/volunteer/reads_alumna.htm.
