School Counselors
As a school counselor, you work with young women on a daily basis who are preparing for the next phase of their lives. Here, you’ll find information to help you guide and support those who may be interested in applying to Meredith.
Our Personal Approach
We take a personalized approach to the college admissions process. When considering applicants, we take into account not just grades and test scores, but factors such as student involvement in the community and leadership experience. Our admissions counselors work closely with prospective students to guide them through the college selection and admissions process. Please contact us if you have any questions or would like specific information about Meredith.
Students at Meredith
Women who choose Meredith find a rigorous educational experience within a supportive, friendly community. Our students are passionate about making a difference in the world through service and leadership opportunities, often of their own making. They are engaged, curious and increasingly diverse. They are also global citizens, with more than a third choosing to study abroad at least once, and many more than once.
To gain a sense of current Meredith students, you may find it helpful to watch several of these short student videos or read about some of our current students' experiences through our student blogs. You might also wish to review information on the success recent students have found after graduation. In addition, President Jo Allen has recorded a short video describing the kinds of students who thrive at Meredith.
Benefits of a Women's College
Meredith College has been educating women to enjoy successful, fulfilled lives for more than 100 years. You may wish to share research with your students about the unique benefits found at a single-sex institution. For example, studies show that women's colleges do a better job of preparing women to be effective leaders and communicators, they're better prepared for their first jobs and they're more likely to find a mentor.
