The Meredith College Office of Student Leadership and Service, in conjunction with the Office of Admissions, cordially invites you to participate in a free conference for high school juniors to develop and sharpen your leadership skills. Please be mindful that this event is limited to only 250 participants, so registration is required for this event. We look forward to having you on-campus!

Registration for the 2012 Leadership Conference for High School Women is closed.

Check-in is at 9:15 a.m. on February 4, 2012 at Johnson Hall Rotunda.

What is the Leadership Conference for High School Women?

The Leadership Conference for High School Women is a free conference for high school juniors to develop and sharpen your leadership skills. Whether you're already a student government officer, a team captain, or simply interested in becoming a leader, this conference is designed with you in mind.  In addition to being able to choose from various leadership topics, the conference will allow you to interact with other North Carolina student leaders.

Can I bring my parents/guests to the Leadership Conference?

The conference is designed for N.C. high school juniors. We can only accommodate the number of students that we have allotted space for, so we advise students not to bring guests. 

What if I'm not a junior in high school, can I still attend?

Due to the popularity of this event and that is it designed with high school juniors in mind, only high school juniors can attend Leadership Conference. 

Do you have to register to attend Leadership Conference?

Pre-registration for the conference is required, and we will be able to accommodate only 250 students. Due to the popularity of this annual event, high school juniors are encouraged to register BEFORE Friday, January 27th.  Students may register by visiting www.meredith.edu/admissions/lc. Once registered, a confirmation email with more detailed information will be sent to you. Remember space is limited to only 250 participants. With this in mind, please register when you are certain you will be in attendance.

I've registered for the Leadership Conference, will I receive confirmation materials?

Once you complete your on-line registration for Leadership Conference, you will automatically receive a confirmation e-mail. We will not be mailing out confirmation materials, so please make sure that you are using an e-mail address that you check frequently because the e-mail contains important information about the event, like where to park, when to arrive, etc.  

Also, if you do not receive a confirmation e-mail then you are not registered for the event. Please register again or contact the Office of Admissions at 1-800-MEREDITH or (919) 760-8581. 

I've registered online, but never received a confirmation e-mail.  What should I do?

If you have submitted your online registration form for the conference, but didn't receive a confirmation e-mail, you will need to re-submit your registration until you receive a confirmation e-mail. If you are having trouble registering on-line, please contact the Office of Admissions at 1-800-MEREDITH or (919) 760-8581. 

I'm registered for the waitlist.  How will I know if I've been moved from the waitlist?

If space becomes available for the main event, wait list registrants will be moved to the Leadership Conference registration based on the order of registration. If this occurs, you will receive a more detailed email notification; if we are unable to move you to the main event, you will receive an email the day before the event.

What is the schedule for the day?

The schedule for the day is as follows:

9:15-10:00                             Registration

10:00-10:30                           Welcome

10:40-11:30                           Leadership Session 1

11:45-1:30                            Lunch & Keynote Speaker

1:40-2:30                              Leadership Session 3

2:45-3:15                              Closing Session

What should I wear?

Please dress comfortably for the event, as some sessions may have you moving around.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

You will not need to bring anything with you, unless you would like to bring your own writing utensils and note paper. 

Does it cost anything to attend the Leadership Conference for High School Women?

The Leadership Conference for High School Women is absolutely FREE! Students who attend will be guests of the College for both the conference and lunch; their only expense will be their transportation to and from Meredith.

Do I need to bring my lunch or will lunch be provided?

You will not need to bring your lunch; lunch will be provided at the conference.
