Is Meredith right for you?
If you are thinking about applying to Meredith, you probably already know about our high national rankings, strong academic programs, active community, and our beautiful campus.
However, one of the most important predictors of academic success is "fit" - simply put, how well Meredith fits you, and how well you fit Meredith. When you decide on a college, you're not only selecting a venue for academic study, you're also choosing your home for the next four years, and a new community of friends and mentors. It's important to choose a college whose students have similar values and aspirations, and a community that will not only recognize your gifts, but provide opportunities to build on them and help you grow.
Meredith's president, Dr. Jo Allen, has recorded a message for students who are trying to figure out whether Meredith is a good fit for them. Dr. Allen shares her thoughts not only as Meredith's eighth president, but also as a former Meredith student herself. Here, she describes the kinds of women who thrive at Meredith - their strengths, their particular qualities, and their interests. Of course, every student is unique and this description cannot begin to capture the variety and diversity of our students. At the same time, Meredith women have their own distinct style and focus, which is what Dr. Allen seeks to capture in her comments.
