Freshmen
At Meredith, we believe that college should be both fun and life-changing. Here, you can create in-depth research projects in areas that interest you, guided by caring and experienced professors. Discover your own, unique leadership style, and explore the world through a study abroad program of your own design. Students are selected for admission based on their potential for success in the classroom and engagement in the Meredith community and beyond. Demonstrate your academic preparedness and potential. Applications for admission are evaluated on the following:
- Rigor of your high school course work
- Success in the classroom (Meredith uses an unweighted grading scale)
- Writing ability as demonstrated by your essay and test writing component
- Potential for success and engaging in the community as demonstrated by your recommendations.

Freshmen Admission Programs
We offer two freshmen admission programs: Early Decision and Regular Decision.
Early Decision is designed for students who are ready to commit to Meredith at an early stage and, if admitted, withdraw applications to other colleges/universities.
Regular Decision candidates are those who wish to apply to a number of colleges, and should complete the application process during fall or early winter of their senior year.
Admission Deadlines and Notification Dates
Decision notification begins on a rolling basis in mid-October.

Visits are an essential part of your college search process—it’s the only way to really get a sense of whether each college is a good fit for you. You can visit Meredith’s campus in a variety of ways. Participate in a visitation day, schedule an individual tour, observe a class, or even request to spend the night.

If you are considering Meredith but are concerned about how to finance your education, please don't hesitate to contact our Office of Financial Assistance. Our staff is available to answer your questions and provide assistance based on your unique circumstances.
To apply for financial assistance, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The priority deadline is February 15; applications received after this date will be considered for assistance as funding permits. FAFSA applications are available beginning January 1 at www.FAFSA.ed.gov.

Meredith enhances academic study for students through a range of offerings that include study abroad, undergraduate research, PRISM and the honors program. Discipline-specific academic enrichment programs include the Meredith College Teaching Fellows and the Paschal Scholars program for freshmen and transfer students who intend to major in biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics or engineering (STEM fields).
