Freshmen

At Meredith, we believe that college should be both fun and life-changing. Here, you can create in-depth research projects in areas that interest you, guided by caring and experienced professors. Discover your own, unique leadership style, and explore the world through a study abroad program of your own design. Along the way, you’ll make new friends, discover new ways to enjoy life, and become a part of a diverse and exceptionally friendly community.

Freshmen Admission Requirements

At Meredith, our personal approach shapes the way we work with every student, beginning with a holistic review of your application for admission. Students are selected for admission based on their potential for success in the classroom and engagement in the Meredith community and beyond. Demonstrate your academic preparedness and potential. Express yourself! Tell us why you’re a great fit for the Meredith community and about your plans for making a difference in our world.

Applications for admission are evaluated on the following:

  • Rigor of your high school course work
  • Success in the classroom (Meredith uses an unweighted grading scale)
  • Writing ability as demonstrated by your essay and test writing component
  • Potential for success and engaging in the community as demonstrated by your recommendations.
  • Standardized test score – SAT or ACT

Review the complete list of admission requirements. Then, we invite you to apply!

Freshmen Admission Programs

We offer two freshmen admission programs: Early Decision and Regular Decision.

Early Decision is designed for students who are ready to commit to Meredith at an early stage and, if admitted, withdraw applications to other colleges/universities.

Regular Decision candidates are those who wish to apply to a number of colleges, and should complete the application process during fall or early winter of their senior year.

Admission Deadlines and Notification Dates

Decision notification begins on a rolling basis in mid-October.

Information for Homeschooled Applicants

In addition ot the above requirements, we ask that you schedule an interview with one of our admissions officers. To read more about additional items that might be requested, please go to our Admission Requirements page. We welcome your contributions and look forward to helping you continue your studies at Meredith.
