Student Leadership & Organizations

Transfers often wonder how and where they can get involved and fit into campus events. Cornhuskin’, Stunt, Crook Hunt, Fire and Water Dinner, Ring Dinner, and Charming Evening are only a few of the long-standing traditions that occur each year.  Many of these events are held in relation to the class year and whether the graduation year makes you an “even” or an “odd.” Classification is listed on the transfer credit evaluation, and along with your anticipated graduation date, you are encouraged to consider yourself part of certain class and associated events of your choice.  Contact your class president for more information and to add yourself to the class listserv.

Organizations
Around the first week of the semester, look for an Organization and Services Fair where student groups and campus offices offer displays and the opportunity to learn more and signup to participate.

Transfer students may want to become involved in some of the nearly 100 campus organizations addressing academic, politics, honors, service, religion and professional interests.  Visit Student Leadership and Service to learn more.

The single best way for new students to keep up with happenings on campus is to check E-news regularly. Consider making it your homepage!
