Almost a lost art, thank you letters certainly have their value during the interview process and should not be neglected. The thank you letter can further reinforce your interest and fit for the position you’re seeking. These letters can be sent in a variety of formats – hand-written, email, typed letter form in the mail – depending on the situation and the contact you’ve already had with the employer representative.
Possible inclusions in your letter:
- Reiterate your interest in the position, mentioning a specific aspect discussed during the interview
- Thank the interviewer for their time and opportunity to interview, as well as their consideration of you as
- Mention any follow up you have completed or will complete
- Demonstrate a warm, sincere tone throughout your letter
