WINGS - An Organization for Nontraditional Students at Meredith College
Women In New Goal Settings (WINGS) is the student organization that represents nontraditional students at Meredith College. "Nontraditional" ranges from students that are married, live off-campus, enter Meredith through the 23+ Program, and even young mothers.
The organization's purpose is to provide information, fellowship, support, leadership opportunities, and advocacy for all nontraditional students. WINGS also serve as liaison between nontraditional students and the on-campus community.
Membership is open to all Meredith students and specifically targeted at those who consider themselves nontraditional students. The WING president and vice president are elected in campus-wide spring elections. All other offices are filled through interviews conducted by the newly elected WINGS president and the WINGS advisor. These offices consist of secretary, treasurer, honor council representatives (2), senators (2), elections board representatives (2), student life representative, historian, publicity chair and social chair.
