Computer Science / Program of Study

The computer science program allows students to develop a broad understanding of current technologies and fundamental knowledge of architecture and operating systems. Through the program, students will demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills as well as the ability to design and implement programming solutions.

Bachelor of Arts with a major in Computer Science
Students earning a Bachelor of Arts with a major in computer science are required to complete 30 credit hours comprised of computer science courses, as well as a cooperative education course or an internship.

Bachelor of Science with a major in Computer Science
Students earning a Bachelor of Science with a major in computer science are required to complete 54-60 credit hours, which include 36 hours of computer science courses, seven to eight hours of mathematics courses, eight hours of physics courses and a one to three hour cooperative education course or internship.

Minor in Mathematics and Computer Applications
Students minoring in mathematics and computer applications are required to complete 20-25 credit hours, including 11 hours of core courses and 9 hours of approved electives.
*Not open to computer science majors

Minor in Web Development
Students minoring in web development are required to complete 19 credit hours, which include 13 hours of programming and design courses and 6 hours of approved computer science electives.
*Not open to computer science majors
