The chemistry program allows students to gain hands-on experience through research and internships on campus and in the community.

As a chemistry major, you’ll be prepared to pursue your professional goals, whether they include graduate school, a career in the chemical industry, teaching, or a professional program in a health-related field. Chemistry majors can also choose to participate in the Engineering Dual Degree Program.

Chemistry is a “central science” that connects biology, engineering, physics, and medicine. As such, it serves as a foundational major for many different careers. A major in chemistry is an excellent stepping stone to careers in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, engineering, government, environmental agencies, and teaching.
