Psychology at Meredith.

The Department of Psychology at Meredith College teaches students to gain a better understanding of themselves and of others, as well as helping them acquire a basic understanding of the concepts, skills and methods that make up psychology, the scientific study of behavior and mental processes.

Our curriculum explores neuropsychology, perception and cognition, developmental and gender issues, personality, abnormal behavior and counseling, along with many other areas of study. Among other things, our programs offer you opportunities to:

  • Contribute to knowledge in psychology by doing research
  • Develop leadership skills by helping to organize worthwhile activities
  • Gain applied skills and experience through professional and work-related experiences, on and off campus

Special features of the department include the Meredith Autism Program (MAP) and the Carolinas Psychology Conference (CPC). MAP provides a one-of-a-kind experience for undergraduate students to develop professional skills while providing help to children and families in need. CPC is one of the longest-running annual meetings of undergraduate students in psychology and related fields.
