Theatre / Internships

Internships are a valuable way for theatre students to gain real life, hands-on professional experience. Students have participated in internships with:

  • Late Night with Conan O’Brien
  • Burning Coal Theatre Company
  • North Carolina Theatre

Festivals and Conferences

Other hands-on learning takes place through the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, a national theatre program involving 20,000 students from colleges and universities nationwide. Meredith’s theatre program is also an active member of Theatre Communication Group, our national theatre conference, Southeastern Theatre Conference, and the North Carolina Theatre Conference (NCTC).

What does it take to put on a play?

Associate Professor of Theatre Steven Roten takes you behind the scenes of a play that was produced at Meredith College.

Strong Story | Rimsha Afzal

At Meredith College, Rimsha Afzal, ’15, was able to pursue both of her passions: theatre and biology. Encouraged by her professors, Rimsha took on multiple roles in plays, leadership, and challenging internships, becoming even stronger in the process.
