Part of the Department of Communication and Performing Arts, the communication program emphasizes civic engagement, social and professional interaction, as well as written and oral communication skills. The program provides a balance of professional experience and academic credentials. Through the program, students:

  • Participate in unique and creative communication courses
  • Engage with a variety of viewpoints
  • Study the processes involved in creating, analyzing and disseminating communication
  • Explore ethical issues, theories and behaviors that are involved in communication


The curriculum offers two concentrations, interpersonal communication and mass communication, each leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree.
